The Jacob Zuma corruption case has been postponed – in the Durban High Court.
Advocate Billy Downer – who’s leading the State’s case against Zuma – has asked for the matter to continue in June.
The case was adjourned until 8 June. The court has heard this is a continuance of a case that was on a court roll back in 2009.
Downer says the state is ready to recommence the trial but there are various applications that the defence intends on making.
The State advocate says there would be room on the court’s roll as early as 12 November to start the trial.
This will also depend on the outcome of a review application that the Defence – consisting of Advocate Hoosen Gani and legal advisor, Michael Hulley seen today – will bring before the court.
