Classes at the Mangosuthu University of Technology remain suspended due to problems with student accommodation.
SRC president, Sandile Dlamini, says many students have not been able to get a place to stay – delaying the start of the academic year at the institution.
Dlamini says they will be meeting with University management today to find a way forward.
“So far – there’s no strike. We have just stopped the processes. Let’s allow every operational matter that needs to be attended to be attended to. Once done with that – we should have a way forward to say whether we should go for classes or keep them suspended,” he says.
Dlaimini says they will also discuss NSFAS, as many students have not been able to register.
MUT management has been unavailable for comment.
